Superstructures
With regard to our experience in constructing of high-rise objects,
|
|
there is also a possibility of locating points of transmission to already existing constructions, in the form of superstructures. A superstructure construction consists of production and assembly of OK antenna carriers, technology frames, ladders, supporting frameworks etc. Besides that, it also includes technology placement, cable troughs or ladders, mains supply connection.

Superstructures to existing towers
Superstructures are mounted to already existing towers mainly in cases when an operator becomes interested in sharing the same locality or, in nature areas being preserved or valued highly in another way where it is forbidden to build more base stations. The Work dwells in adding OK antennas to the tower and another container for the technology or a shelter /base/ for outdoor technology, if necessary.
Superstructures to existing high-rise constructions
Another practical and interesting method of solving the task where to place transmitting points can be the use of already existing high-rise constructions like water towers or chimneys.
TEPLOTECHNA Ostrava a.s. has realised several superstructures of this type for radio communication purposes recently, three to eight meters high.
Superstructures to existing buildings
In towns, high demand for the number of transmitting points are solved by placing base stations on existing buildings. The superstructure can be realised on objects both with level and inclined roofs. The steel antenna carriers can be anchored both on flat and inclined roofs by using various methods.

The technology is located according to object characteristics. It is possible to make the necessary rooms in the upper storey or attic of the building. It is also feasible to utilize free facilities within the premises (e.g. drying rooms).
On level roofs, the room can be placed directly on the surface or, a container can be put on a supporting framework. Quite often outdoor technology is used, which is placed on steel frameworks. In rare cases, also other methods and objects are used (garages etc.)
